Welcome back after a very strange summer and, for some of you, a long time out of the school routine.
Year 9 is a big year to set you up for KS4 where we lay the groundwork for the choices you will start to make in terms of your career plans.
We have high expectations of attendance (please be at school on time), uniform (correct uniform worn), and respect ( be respectful to other pupils and staff at all times).
There are lots of great opportunities coming up in school over the next year, not just all the learning in classes you will do. Many of you will do music lessons, go to FLE, have 1:1 sports sessions and class activities, etc.
This will also be a strange year where we support you to attain standards we expect of the whole school with regards to COVID-19. All desks will be wiped down between lessons, face masks worn in corridors, and hand gel/hand washing at the start of each lesson. Please be patient when going into class as cleaning may be taking place quickly.
We are sure you, and we, will settle in quickly and have a great year full of memorable things and experiences ahead of us. My role as your tutor is to support you with any issues through the year, encourage you to gain confidence in your learning and abilities as well as push you to achieve your fullest academic and personal potential. Let’s have a great year.
Welcome back and welcome to 9PR
Mr. Rooke & Miss Burton.
