Congratulations! You are now officially student leaders at the Polygon. As the oldest members of the school you are expected and encouraged to become role models and mentors for the younger pupils. By now you are familiar with school life, the daily routines and staff- you are in a position to help support those around you, especially as many of the younger pupils look up to you, and follow your shining example!
In Key Stage 4 boys are encouraged to take more responsibility for their own learning in and out of class.
For those of you that wish to, you can consolidate your directed learning time and will have the opportunity to join revision clubs and 1:1 sessions on the lead up to exams. Teachers allow plenty of time to help you feel more confident when approaching exam tasks and will practice exam techniques in order to take the fear factor away.
Key Stage 4 can be a very daunting time for some. The thought of exams, leaving school, change and what to do next can be very stressful. Feel rest assured that we will be with you and will support you every step of the way.
It is not all work and no play! We have fun in our tutor base and will become a close group. I challenge any of you to a game of ‘Friday catch’!
We are very proud to be your Key Stage 4 tutors this year and wish you all the very best for the future.
Mrs Kinder and Mr Betlem.
