Saints Foundation, Premier League, train station, collaboration!

An opportunity arose that The Polygon grabbed with both hands.  The Saints Foundation, that school has worked with for many years, presented the opportunity to colloaborate as part of the Premier League Inspires Project.  It was such a fantastic opportunity for the boys here, how could we not get involved!

The opportunity is essentially long term work experience where we have 'adopted' platform 4 of Southampton Central station. The boys can have a lot of freedom about what they want to get involved with in terms of; improving the area, painting, artwork, planters etc.  The group also get a mentor from 'Senior Saints' who will work with them on improving the platform.

The selected pupils have already been to the stadium and had a safety briefing from Satty (one of the SWR managers).  We have had our first visit this week and selected some of the things the boys wanted to get involved in, ranging from decisions to paint some of the wall and design an art piece.   It was wonderful to see the group get stuck in with their own Hi-vis jackets and ID badges which they have to sign in and out of the station with!

It is fantastic to have this opportunity to be involved in making a direct impact within the school community.
