Exams and how to cope

With exams fast approaching, here are some ways to help with feelings around them:

 

  • Practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, visualization exercises, and yoga.  Just heading out for a walk to get some fresh air can help.

  • Maintain a healthy lifestyle by; getting aerobic exercise on a regular basis, sleeping well, and eating healthily.

  • Get accurate information about the exam well in advance.  Ask your teacher for information if you are unsure.

  • Be well prepared.  Know when the exams are and what time they start.

  • Adjust unhelpful thoughts, as doing your best is all you can do.

  • Laugh more, as laughter is a natural medicine that improves your mood and combats stress.

  • If you need extra support, just ask.
