Assemblies

Assemblies are held weekly, usually on a Friday and have an international/global theme to them.  In addition to our daily worship at lunchtimes, a time for reflection/thought is built in to the end of the assembly.

In addition to our assembly programme, we allocate time to practice decoding and phonics as a class.

This gives pupils a systematic way of reading and connecting letters to their corresponding sounds. This will help develop strong reading, writing and spelling skills that can be used independently throughout the school. It’s great to see each tutor group engage with this and learn new words each week!

Assembly time is also a chance to reflect on the week and celebrate any successes including receiving head teacher’s awards and tutor group cups for reading, numeracy and attendance.
