We welcome you back to school after our ‘Great escape’ weeks and the long summer holiday. We hope you had a great time and are looking forward getting back to school. We hope you are well rested and keen to start Year 8.
You are all very familiar with the school now. You have made new friends in Year 7 and have got to know all the staff that work with you.
You are no longer the youngest, newest members of our school and that in itself brings some responsibilities. You will now begin to be role models for those pupils new to our school as they will look to you at times for guidance.
It is important that you adhere to the rules and routines and begin to take more responsibility for yourselves so that you do not always have to rely on others to guide you.
We will expect high levels of attendance and punctuality to lessons. We will also expect you to develop an even more mature approach to lessons and your learning. This means that you need to focus on your own independent learning as well as being prepared to work together with your peers.
We will be here to support you achieve your targets and would ask that if you are unsure or feel uncomfortable about anything please speak to us.
Enjoy your year and enjoy all the school has to offer.
Mr Gillo, Miss Brobson and Miss Long
