Have you agreed a bedtime that you and your child are happy with? Will this be a time that they will stick to? Your child is likely to be tired in the early weeks and will need to get plenty of sleep. It is a good idea to get their bedtime routine started before term starts, this will help them become more responsible. Your son may need extra support in the first few weeks but as they begin to settle in, they will need to take responsibility for organising themselves and getting themselves up in the morning. The more you encourage them now the easier it will be in the long run.
