Promoting British Values

 

The DfE has stated the need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”

At The Polygon School we have a strong commitment to embedding these values and educating our pupils on how to live and conduct themselves in a diverse society. We value the ethnic backgrounds of our pupils, staff and parents and seek to celebrate this through our curriculum and events in school. We are passionate and dedicated in teaching our pupils to follow the rule of law and to be tolerant and respectful of one another. These values are at the core of our practice and are reinforced to our pupils on a daily basis through excellent role modelling and by challenging misconceptions.
