Dear Polygon Community,
Well done to all our Year 11 and Year 10 pupils who have undertaken Teacher Assessments and “in school” examinations over the last three weeks.
We look forward to the examination results on the 9th August 2021.
Some pupils have got results already as they took examinations in the November series and have been using this set of exams to try to better their grades.
Most of these pupils will be moving onto college, work or apprenticeships in September 2021.
The last official day of school for year 11 pupils is always the last Friday in June, so this year, our Year 11’s will leave on Friday 25th June.
A big thank you to those families who supported the examinations by allowing the school to be quiet and without any disruption whilst the exams were taking place. This is truly appreciated by the candidates. We know it makes a huge difference.
Looking forward to the June-July term we have a number of things to share with you:
Tuesday 8th June is the final English examination. There is a morning and an afternoon paper. Those pupils who are not sitting the exam will be following the work pack provided by their tutor that day.
Throughout July, a wide range of activities and trips away from the school site will take place.
Each tutor group has a different plan which will be shared with you after the half term holiday.
We have tried to make sure that the only contribution you will be asked to make to the cost of the programme will be for “treats” such as food or ice cream whilst the pupils are out on a school trip.
I hope your child will enjoy what they have been planning with their tutor. This seems like a fitting end to what has been a difficult year for everyone, and forms part of what we are calling our “Covid recovery plan”.
The school finishes for the summer holiday on Friday 23rd July 2021 and returns for the new school year on Monday 6th September.
We appreciate your continued support.
Enjoy the summer.
